About Surfcoast Occupational Therapy

Timothy Walsh. B.App Sci OT 

Tim has been a practicing Occupational Therapist for over 30 years, with extensive clinical experience in physical and psychiatric rehabilitation in Australia, United States and the Middle East. 

Upon returning to Australia in 2001 he was employed with a vocational rehabilitation provider and gained experience with worksite assessments, case management, industrial mediation, job analysis and risk assessment, performance assessments, injury management and return to work services for physical and stress related claims. As an independent contractor Tim has been providing activities of daily living assessmentsfor Insurers, Worksafe and TAC, as well Job Capacity Assessments for Centrelink. 

Surfcoast Occupational Therapy Serviceswas established 15 years ago, and Tim has since been specialising in providing medico legal assessmentsfor legal firms throughout Victoria and interstate, completing reports which focus on capacity for employment, equipment needs, TPI assessments and costings.

Larissa Andriske B. App Sci OT

Larissa has specialised in treating children and adults with complex neurological conditions and providing upper limb rehabilitationfor more than 20 years. She worked for 8 years in the United States, providing neuro-rehabilitation to clients of all ages, in various hospital and home based settings, as well as completing additional training in upper limb assessment and treatment.

She has undertaken specialised training in SaeboFlex upper limb retraining, and has completed advanced training with this equipment in the U.S. She instigated the use of Saeboflex therapy in Australia and provides training to other therapists. She has also trained in the use of cranio-sacral therapy, myofascial release and neuro developmental techniques to achieve optimal outcomes for postural control and upper limb use. 

Larissa has extensive experience in complex seating and equipment prescription for clients with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke and spinal injuries. She has an in-depth knowledge of this clientele and also provides cost analysis reports and medico legal assessmentsfor catastrophic and permanent injuries.
