Neuro Rehabilitation
Surfcoast Occupational Therapy provides rehabilitation to clients with neurological conditions, in their own home. Therapy can include play based developmental therapy for children with cerebral palsy or developmental delays, or complex wheelchair seating assessment for adults with multiple sclerosis, hemiplegia or acquired brain injury. Therapy is often focussed on achieving goals related to mobility, comfort, improving upper limb function and training carers.
Upper limb rehabilitation may consist of splinting, electrical stimulation, dynamic taping, casting, strengthening or Saeboflex© training. Various modalities are used to provide optimal outcomes for clients with impaired function of their arms or hands.
Surfcoast Occupational Therapy will also work closely with other health professionals involved in the clients care and can provide reports to funding bodies to detail their future equipment and therapy needs.
